Rice's 68th Wedding Anniversary

The newlyweds. Burl & Eugh Vaughn Rice.

Ed, Eugh Vaughn, Burl & Pat

Me, my Dad, my Grandma & Grandpa, my cousin Trisha and my Aunt Pat.

For the record, my Grandma is about 4'10" and probably weighs less than 100 pounds. I am 5'5" and weigh more than 100 pounds. Standing next to Grandma makes me feel like an Amazon. When I was little it was a rite of passage when you could officially say you were taller than Grandma. Most of us reached that goal by about age 10.

I took several random shots of the crowd. This guy really likes ice cream in a cup.

Chuck playing on the swing set with two of my cousin Trisha's children, practicing to be a Grandpa.

My cousin's daughter.

Aunt Bibby and her daughter Rolanda. Aunt Bibby babysat me when I was little. She may look nice but she makes you drink milk. I still hold a grudge.

Grandma crying.

Enough speeches, where's the cake.

Uncle Max, Aunt Levine and my Dad.

Dad at the winner's table.

Rolanda. She used to let me play with her Barbie dolls when Aunt Bibby took care of me though she did once yell at me for throwing a gum wrapper out the car window when I was four. I have not thrown trash out a car window since. It made an impression.

Aunt Bibby & Aunt Levine (my Grandmother's sisters).

People I don't know who appear upset they are missing their nap.

About 100 attended the open house to celebrate my Grandparents anniversary.

People enjoying Pat's speech.

Max and Levine.

On September 21, 2008, an open house was held to celebrate my Grandma & Grandpa Rice's 68th Wedding Anniversary. Above are a few pictures of the event. Below is a video of my Aunt Pat reciting some family history:
