Last Sunday, Chuck and I went to the farm to visit Grandma & Grandpa Rice. Dad, Uncle Dick and Aunt Pat also came to dinner. Uncle Dick told us they had put up several new windmills near King City, Missouri which were visible from his farm (You cannot see them from Grandma's because there is a hill in the way). I asked Chuck to take a detour on the way home so we could see the windmills. They are apparently not operational yet because none of the windmills were moving despite the high winds that day. Dad says they were built by a Dutch company. Dad also said the landowner gets $3,000 a year lease for each windmill on his land but that some neighboring farmers are suing over the look and sound of the windmills affecting the value of their land.
