This last week-end we went up to my Grandma & Grandpa Rice's for a visit. On the way, we stopped in Troy, Kansas to check out the Indian Memorial.
The Indian Memorial above sits on the grounds of the Doniphan County Courthouse. The sculpture was made out of a single tall oak tree.

Next, we made a stop in St. Joseph, Missouri, and visited the Pony Express Museum.
Here I am wishing Godspeed to the first Pony Express Rider who is about to leave the stable.

The original stable could hold 200 horses and had it's own well inside the stable.
Above is the famous St. Joseph Pony Express Sculpture. It seems like every business in town has "Pony Express" in it's title. As in the Pony Express Motel, the Pony Express Gas Station, the Pony Express Grocery Store, etc.

Road in front of Grandma & Grandpa's house. This is the road I supposedly ran down to try to go home when I was about three. According to my Grandma, Grandpa had to chase after me catching me at the top of the hill just as a truck was cresting the hill with the sun in his eyes. "It's a wonder you weren't killed," as told by Grandma.
