Last night I was lying on the couch and felt something in my mouth--it was my tooth! I handled the situation in my usual calm, dignified way. I immediately ran around the house in circles crying and screaming "What are we going to do! What are we going to do!" Chuck was eventually able to catch me and reassure me it could be fixed. The problem was I didn't have a dentist. Thankfully, Chuck knows lots of dentists and had just finished a large job in a Dentist's office. Chuck called the dentist first thing Monday morning and got me an emergency appointment. Chuck explained I have high dentist anxiety and may have to be strapped to the chair.
I actually liked the dentist a lot. He spent a lot of time showing me all the work Chuck had done and how great it was--blah, blah, something about some high tech x-ray equipment, blah, blah, blah. I was pretty bored listening to him but was grateful he liked Chuck's work enough to see me even though I wasn't a patient. He was able to temporarily cement my crown back into place though I am to avoid using that tooth (not sure how you do that) until it can be repaired correctly. My teeth grinding probably weakened the crown causing it to break off. He suggested I stop grinding my teeth. I go back July 9th to have the tooth fixed permanently and hope it doesn't fall off again between now and then.
