Chuck held out his arm and took this picture of us standing in a sunflower field. We ran across the field by
accident and just happened to have our camera with us. The field was located on Highway 24 between Lawrence and Tonganoxie. There was a sign posted at the edge of the field explaining the flowers were late this year and smaller than ususual because the field had to be replanted. The herbicide the farmer used killed the first crop. Their was also a donation box asking you to contribute if you picked any flowers signed "The famer's wife". Lots of other motorists were stopped taking pictures, especially parents with small children.
