Day 3 - Talkeetna

Talkeetna, Alaska

I couldn't resist taking this photo

Famous sign at entrance to town

Chuck at home with fire truck

I just thought this made a pretty picture I might want to try and paint

Nagley store built circa 1917

Alaska railroad snowplow with side wings to throw snow

Another artistic shot

I like this picture taken of old log cabin

The store was moved on rollers to it's current location in 1945 and amazingly stayed open throughout the move

Proof Chuck was in Alaska

Talkeetna which means "meeting of the rivers" in the Athabaskan language began as a trading post in 1896 and supplied the 1910 Susitna Valley Gold Rush. The town sits at the junction of the Susitna, Talkeetna and Chilitna Rivers.
